“Gatsby” (as the owners have fondly nicknamed it for its entertaining potential) was originally built in 1922 and was home to many famous Kansas Citians, most including, the Stickelber family who were essentially the inventors of sliced bread as well as John Harold Kander, the Broadway composer who wrote the famous song, “New York, New York”.

Unfortunately in 2013 a mechanical fire broke out on the third floor, cause sever water and smoke damage which ultimately landed the home on the endangered building list until it was purchased by the new owners in November 2016.

At the time of purchase, the house was a shell, stripped down to the studs. LandRock is currently working to bring the home back to life with plans to make it a single family residence.
